Guidance: The Brave of the Month, is a role-model for his/her Team. Ecology Club: KMS is having a Caprisun pouch collection contest. You can help earn money for your school by bringing in Caprisun pouches during your school lunch bell. Boxes for each grade level will be in the back of the cafeteria for collection. Each Caprisun pouch gives the school 2 cents. All proceeds will go to ecology projects. Help your school and help bring in Caprisun pouches today.
SCA: This is a reminder to all AVID, NJHS and SCA reps and Council to come out and volunteer with the school beautification day. Everyone should meet at the front door at 9:00 am. We will work until 12:00 pm. Please bring gardening tools if you have them!
Chorus: It’s time for our Chorus Karaoke Pizza Party fundraiser. The cost to attend is $4. All tickets must be paid in advance. Enjoy having pizza and watching your chorus friends sing Karaoke at KMS Café. Get a pizza party form and sign up to help the chorus fundraiser. “Don’t be square. Chorus: A reminder to all chorus students auditioning for District Chorus this Saturday. You need to be at Ocean Lakes High School at 8:45 am this Saturday morning for your auditions. Meet Ms. Smith in the front entrance. For more questions see Ms. Smith in the chorus room today.
Sports Physicals: It’s not too late to get a sports physical for B-Ball. Stop by the student activities office to get more details regarding upcoming physicals.
Plaza Middle School is November 10, 2009 from 3:45-5:00. The physicals will be done in the gym and the cost is $10.00.
Attendance: This is a reminder to turn in all absence excuse notes to one of your core teachers or the office as soon as possible.
KMS Movie Night: KMS will host a Movie Night on Friday, November 20th, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. We will be viewing the newly released movie “Up”. This is free to all KMS students and families. Flyers with all the details will be given out in homeroom on Monday, November 9th. We look forward to packing the auditorium with KMS families for a great night of fun.

Band: Students, faculty and staff: are you getting together with friends and family for Thanksgiving or spending quality time watching football? Well the band has the perfect snack food for football games and pizza and desserts for gathering or quick meals on the run. The Gianni’s Band fundraiser goes through November 6th. Sign up today! Dodgeball: Dodgeball sign ups continue through this week. Bring in your registration form and fee of $5 and sign up for a team. Signups are in the large gym first thing in the morning. The Dodgeball tournament will be held on November 10th in the large gym at 5:30 pm.

2nd Annual Essay Contest – Zaki Orthodontics
Participating students should write an essay, no longer than two pages in length describing why they would like to have orthodontic treatment. They should include a close up photograph of their face and smile. The winner of the essay contest will be the student who is able to demonstrate a need for braces through their writing skills, as well as their photographs. Once the doctor has received and reviewed all of the essay
entries, he will pick a student to have orthodontic treatment in our office free of charge! The essays need to be completed and in the office by November 19th, 2009.
