National Junior Honor Society
Kempsville Middle School

The purpose of the National Junior Honor Society is to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, to develop character, and to encourage citizenship. Membership in NJHS is an honor bestowed upon a student.

The Kempsville Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society meets twice a month at 8:15 a.m. in room 109. Members, please inform Mr. Bowles or Miss Sullivan if you are unable to attend a meeting.

The 2008 membership selection procedure will begin in February. All students who are scholastically eligible for membership will be contacted. The Induction Ceremony for new members will be held on March 6, 2008, at Kempsville Middle School.

Click here to download a information packet, or e-mail Miss Sullivan at melissa.sullivan@vbschools.com or Mr. Bowles at brent.bowles@vbschools.com.

You must give an evaluation form to your four core teachers and two elective teachers from the current school year. You may run extra copies to give others (coaches, former teachers, etc.), but all your teachers from THIS YEAR need to hand in an evaluation form for you.

All information must be complete with the appropriate signatures. If there is not a signature for a particular activity, it cannot be counted in your information packet. All packets must be signed by the applying student and a parent. Information packets are due Friday, February 22, at 9:30 a.m., to Ms. Feret in the Guidance department.
