Every student must have the (Revised 4/13) VBCPS physical on file in the Student Activities Office in order to tryout for an athletic team or be involved with the intramural

Cheerleading Practice Begins:

Library Closed:  The Library will be closed for testing today Tuesday, January 16th and Wednesday, January 17th.  Small groups and checkouts cannot be accommodated during this time. Books should be returned to the blue bin by the Library.

NJHS:  There will be an NJHS meeting on Wednesday, January 17th at 1:15 p.m. in Mrs. Yeager's Room 130.  There will be an NJHS officers’ meeting TODAY at 1:15 p.m. in Mrs. Yeager's room. Anyone who needs a pass should stop by Room 130.

Volleyball:  There will be a Volleyball interest meeting next Wednesday, January 17th after school in Room 138.  Students must have a ride home, as the meeting will only last until 4:30 p.m.  See Mr. Dishaw with any questions.

Free Music:  Freegal is a free music service for Virginia Beach Public library card holders that allows them to get five songs a week for free!  All songs are yours to keep and you can transfer them from device to computer or to a CD (if you are retro like that). To use Freegal, you must have an up-to-date public library card. 13 year olds can apply for a Teen card when the public library visits KMS next Thursday, January 18th.
 
Kempsville High School:  Kempsville High School will be holding a Chief Connections Night tonight, January 16th, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.  This event is designed to help parents make the most informed choices possible regarding their students’ experience at Kempsville High School.
 
Baseball Intramurals:  ​Baseball hitting intramurals will meet today after school in the mat room.  Anyone interested in working on their hitting, come out and join us!

Green Team:  The Green Team meeting, originally scheduled for this afternoon has been postponed until next week.

Winter Sports:  Students interested in trying out for Volleyball, Wrestling or Debate should stop  by the Student Activities Office for an informational flyer.

Gifted School Applications:  Students who are interested in applying to Old Donation School for dance or academics should stop by Mrs. Yeager's Room 130 to pick up a flyer on how to apply.  All applications for dance, art, and ODC academics are due by January 25th.  Information on applying to Virginia Beach Middle School's Visual Arts program is also posted outside of Room 130. All sketches for art are due January 25th. 

KMS Registration Information and SAMPLE elective sheets are available below for Rising 7th and 8th graders.  Parents please review the letter and look over these elective choices with your child as we begin our building registrations.  Students should have an idea of what elective choices they want when we go into their classes.  Parents can access their child’s 2018/2019 schedule via Parent Portal by clicking on the Course Request tab.  By clicking on the link above for 2018-2019 Student Guide you can get detailed descriptions of each elective starting on page 22.
