Afterschool Practice:  There will be no afterschool practices for sports teams today.

Gentlemen’s Club:  The Gentlemen's Club will meet on Tuesday March 20th after school in the Cafeteria.  Gentlemen's Club members must turn in their Krispy Kreme Doughnut fund raiser forms to Mr. Huntley by 2:00 today.

Book Fair:  The KMS Spring Scholastic Book Fair will be held March 19th - March 23rd.  Stop by   and check out new titles and posters. Anyone who was issued a Reading Ticket may return it to the Library by Monday, March 19th for a chance to win a gift certificate to the fair!

Spirit Wear:  KMS PTA Spirit Wear are being sold in the Library.  Hoodies are $25 and long sleeve t-shirts are $15.  See Mrs. Sutterluety if you are interested in purchasing any of these items.

NJHS:  Students who are eligible to apply for NJHS should complete the application and turn it and the teacher recommendations in by Thursday, March 29th at 4:10pm.  Anyone who did not receive an application and would like to apply should see Mrs. Yeager.

Book Drive:  The SCA is sponsoring a Ronald McDonald Book Drive. Donation boxes for gently used or new books are in the Library. The Ronald McDonald House allows children to get the best care. When a child is sick, everyone wants the best care possible – even if it is hundreds or thousands of miles away. The Ronald McDonald House allows families to access specialized medical treatment by providing a place to stay at little or sometimes no cost.

Spring Sports:  Students interested in trying out for Baseball, Softball, Field Hockey, Track or Forensics this spring should stop by the Student Activities Office to pick up an informational flyer.  Athletes must have a physical on file in order to participate.

Doughnut Sale:  The Gentlemen's Club is having a fundraiser for the End of the Year Awards & Banquet Celebration.  Krispy Kreme glazed doughnut certificates will be sold thru March 20th. See Mr. Huntley or any Gentlemen's Club member to purchase a certificate.

Women’s History Month:  Ada Lovelace’s obsession with math began at a young age – her mother called her the “Princess of Parallelograms”. But don’t let the name fool you – Ada was persistent and followed a strict math curriculum, something unheard of for women in the 1800s. She collaborated with inventor Charles Babbage, and together they created one of the first computers called the Analytical Machine. Ada envisioned a world where computers could write music and become extensions of human thought. She was a true visionary, and she remains an inspiration to women in the fields of technology, computing, and programming.

Wrestling:  The Kempsville Wresting Team lost its final dual meet match of the season to Plaza.  Despite having to deal with much sickness and injuries throughout the lineup, they fought hard and respectfully.  Getting wins for the Braves were Christain P., Drew W., Zavien Z., Matt W. and Jacod B.  The team’s final competition is the city tournament at Ocean Lakes.  A reminder to all wrestlers that practice has been cancelled for today and will resume on Monday.
