Pep Rally:  The SCA would like to thank the staff that participated yesterday in the Lip Sync Battle during the Pep Rally.  Great job Mrs. Fraley, Ms. Brinkley, Ms. Massey, Mr. Merritt, Mr. Wnukowski, Mrs. Keipe, Ms. Lape and Ms. Van Petten.  A slide-show will be coming on Monday!

Book Fair: The KMS Book Fair is next week!  Anyone who did not receive a Book Fair flyer from their English teacher yesterday will receive one today.  Answer the Book Fair questions attached to the flyer and bring it next week - you may be the winner of a Book Fair gift certificate.

Spirit of Norfolk:  Spirit of Norfolk permission slips and money for 8th grade students are due to Ms. Spain by May 1st.

Earth Friendly Fact of the Day: Paper, we know you use it and abuse it!  Recycling one ton of paper saves 15 trees! Recycled paper produces 25% less air pollution than paper made from raw materials.  Make sure you try to recycle that paper you use!  Thanks for joining the Ecology Club this week as we celebrate the Earth.  Every Day is Earth Day!

Cheerleading Try-outs: Kempsville High School will be holding Cheerleading tryouts from   May 11th-14th.  Any rising 9th graders who will be attending Kempsville HS and are interested in trying out should stop by the Student Activities Office to pick up an informational flyer.

Lost and Found:  Anyone who has lost or misplaced an item should check the Lost and Found today.  All Lost and Found items will be given to charity after school today.

DVDs to the Troops:  Monday is the last day to bring in DVDs for the SCA project “DVD’s to the Troops”.

Field Hockey:  The Kempsville Braves Field Hockey Team fought a hard battle against the Plaza Trojans.  The entire team contributed through the first and second half.  No goals were scored by either of the teams.  The Trojans came back during over time and scored the winning goal.  The Lady Braves have a Home game on Monday against Princess Anne and we hope to see you there!

Softball:  The Kempsville Lady Braves Softball Team ran their record to 4 and 0 with a win over Plaza 13-0.  Jessica P. and Alexis R. combined to pitch a one hit shutout.  Offensively, Alyssa C. had three hits.  Haley S., Hadley V. and Tori R. each had two hits.  The Ladies play an undefeated Princess Anne MS on Monday at home, so come out to show your support!

Boys Track:  The Boys Track Team beat out Larkspur yesterday.

4X100 Relay Team          - Isaiah C., Mikel M., Ashmar R. and Dustin B. placed 1st
4X100 Relay Team          - Owen V., Ashmar R., Tom B. and Mikel M. placed 1st
1600 M                           - Peyton K. placed 1st, Rex F. placed 2nd, and Grayson B. placed 3rd
400 M                                       - Tom B. placed 2nd
100M and 200M             - Isaiah C. placed 2nd
800 M                                      - Matthew M. placed 2nd, and Simeon S. placed 3rd

Girls Track:  The girls were not far behind Larkspur.
